Mongolian Green Beans

For the Mongolian Sauce

  • 1/3 cup of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
  • 1 pinch of red pepper flakes

  • 1 1⁄2 pounds of green beans
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of shredded carrots
  • 1 cup of cauliflower florets
  • Chopped scallions, to garnish

Start by preheating to oven to 400 degrees.

On a sheet tray lined with parchment paper, lay out the green beans and cauliflower. Drizzle with vegetable oil and roast for 20 minutes or until tender and crispy.

To make the sauce, combine all of the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to combine. To prepare the dish, heat a large skillet to medium heat and add in the sauce. Allow it to cook for just about 30 seconds, then add in the green beans, carrots, and cauliflower.

To serve, add the rice (green tea rice) to a bowl and top with the sauce green beans. Garnish by adding chopped scallions.
